The cute Russian Bear.

This card was sent by Rena from Russia. There are a few cards from which you gain knowledge. For me, this is one of those cards.

This card shows a Bear (a Russian symbol), presumably, A Eurasian brown bear or a Kamchatka brown bear (I had never heard about it before) given that these 2 are the ones that seem similar to the one on the postcard. The bear is wearing an Ushanka, which is a traditional Russian winter hat with ear flaps. The Ushanka looks cute on the bear, doesn’t it?

This is a picture of an Ushanka I found on Google.

There are a few Russian onion domes (yes, that’s what they’re called. See how CNN messed it up) in the backdrop, which are likely a part of Saint Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow.

Now, let’s learn more about the sender of this card.

Rena writes from Moscow (-15°C at that time). She is a 22-year-old photographer. She’s also a mother of two babies. They (her family) are orthodox Christians and love god. She likes reading books and watching movies. Rena and her husband both love One piece (an anime).  I had mentioned about One piece on my Postcrossing profile. I was happy to hear this as none of my friends has watched the show.

Here’s what she wrote –

"Hello Vishnu! My name is Rena. I'm a 22 y.o. I'm mother 2 babies. Photographer. We are orthodox Christians. We loved God...<3 I like to read books and watch movies. My husband and I also love One piece ^_^  I wish you all the best! <3 Happy Postcrossing!                         Russia, Moscow, -15° C"

She also attached 3 odd-shaped stamps. They are a part of the Kremlin series issued by the Russian post.

A Kremlin is a major fortified central complex found in historic Russian cities. Throughout the country, several Kremlins were built to protect Russian cities from enemy attacks. The Moscow Kremlin is undoubtedly the grandest of them all but there are others with a unique beauty and with many stories to tell.

The two 10 Ruble stamps portray the Moscow Kremlin and the 25 Ruble stamp portrays the Ryazan Kremlin.
